Cuban Heritage- Saturday March 16th, 2019
March 16 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
In 1959, Miami’s culture began a transformation that would change the landscape of South Florida forever. Cuban refugees began migrating to Miami during the Castro revolution, radically shifting this quiet Southern city of Miami into a fast-paced, internationally-connected hub. From food to accents on the street, fashion and art studios, Miami pulses to the beat of this truly unique and blended culture.
Join us for a journey through the story of Miami’s Cuban community. Experience the passion and vision that these motivated exiles contributed to their new home. Take in the smells, sights, sounds and colors of a street that launched the dramatic transformation of Miami over five decades ago. Among other landmarks, we’ll see historic Domino Park, striking monuments, and a traditional Cuban cigar shop. Prepare yourself for a day of discovery and fun!
- Tour will begin at 10am
- Meet in front of Domino Park at 9:50am, 801 SW 15th Ave, Miami, FL 33135
- Parking is scattered, expect to pay a couple dollars for the parking meters.
